REVIEWS

Over time I will look to provide reviews, mainly for apps or resources that enhance the learning experience, or help educators to be able to manage their course content / delivery.

There are three main stores to access applications for smartphones and tablets: Apple, Android and Windows.  Each review will be filed with indications of which ecosystem the app resides on - more than one if appropriate.

Adobe Slate (IOS / web)
Adobe Voice
Plickers
iTunesU

I will also provide reviews for some web applications that can be used on any web browser. Google Chrome comes packed with extensions that can be installed as applications that makes the browser even more effective. By using Google Chrome extensions and the many varied applications Google provides free of charge, an argument can be made for solely concentrating on building a Chromebook school policy rather than BYOD.

Chrome apps

Chromecast - the web on your TV
Google Drive - an online information storehouse
Google Sheets / Docs - the online Office
Snagit extension - very handy videos and animated GIFs

Web apps

Kahoot! - interactive online quizzes in game show format
Plickers - quizzes for a classroom without IT resources
Nearpod - making your presentation interactive
Incredibox - make your own music
Edmodo - organise your learning

Adobe Slate - create a multimedia document
iTunesU - create a course
